Team

Shuai Yuan

Co-Founder and CEO

With a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University, Shuai has spent over a decade at the cutting edge of silicon photonics and augmented reality. Drawing on his deep expertise in optical calibration and packaging, he’s successfully brought more than ten groundbreaking products to market.

Shuai led the optical calibration team at a leading U.S. startup, where he oversaw the production of the world’s first silicon photonic fiber-optic transceivers—a milestone that contributed to the company’s $270 million acquisition. Later, as the technical lead at an AR startup, he played a pivotal role in delivering the company’s first-generation and latest-generation products, helping it become the world’s largest AR unicorn.

Jiabao Zheng

Co-Founder and CTO

With a PhD from Columbia University under the mentorship of OSA Fellow Professor Dirk Englund and a postdoc at MIT, has made pivotal contributions to photonics.

He has authored 17+ journal papers with 2,500+ citations and holds 5+ patents. As a reviewer for top journals like ACS Nano and a five-time session organizer/reviewer for the prestigious EIPBN conference, Jiabao is a recognized leader in the field.

At a leading U.S. silicon photonics startup, he played a key role in 10+ tapeouts and the commercialization of 5+ products, helping the company become one of two worldwide to mass-produce coherent silicon photonic communication modules, culminating in a successful acquisition.

Alex Yang

Co-Founder and COO

With a master’s in accounting from Lehigh University, Alex has over a decade of experience in investment and finance, specializing in coal, power, and IT sectors. He has led semiconductor investments, helping companies reach IPOs and major acquisitions. As a former award-winning industry analyst, he brings deep expertise in investment strategy and financial management, having successfully driven numerous funding rounds and corporate growth.
