What makes it hard

Painted pottery carries glazed reflective areas next to matte clay, and the pigments also differ in reflectance. For structured light, one frame therefore contains both overexposed and underexposed regions.

Heritage work also requires accurate color. Correct geometry with incorrect color is of no use for research or display. Depth and color data must therefore align exactly.

What we measured

1,787,235 raw points cover the whole figurine. One pass captured the facial detail, the hands, the fall of the robe, and the color transition between glazed and matte areas.
